Paduan Suara Gema Sangkakala didirikan pada 12 Juli 1987, dibawah asuhan Ir. Wenny F.O Pantouw sebagai upaya menyalurkan minat dan bakat generasi muda yang menyukai musik, khususnya musik vokal.

Sejak saat itu Paduan Suara Gema Sangkakala menjadi contoh bagi perkembangan paduan suara di Sulawesi Utara, baik dari segi Manajemen, Pola Pembinaan dan Pengembangan Paduan Suara.

Gema Sangkakala

It started from a group of a Christian background Manado youth with a singing hobby that agreed to form a singing group. They formed a choral group adequately trained to take part in choral festivals often held by churches especially GMIM (Gereja Masehi Injili Minahasa). They used it to have fun and partying while flowing in the dynamics and passion on their own perception.

Once, in their enjoyment, one of the cars that called themselves Gema Sangkakala ran into an accident while on their way to an Art Festival. This July 12 1987 event, did not take any life. All of them were amazed and joyful at God’s miracle. God opened everyone’s eyes, heart and faith that made them see that:

  • Jesus is the Good Shepherd faithful in leading His lambs’ journey.
  • Church art festival and PESPARANI activities is not just a place for festivities.
  • The Good Shepherd is willing to love and had a beautiful special plan for the existence and journey of Gema Sangkakala.

Through a Thanksgiving Service, its members form an agreement to surface and step in a complete format. That is Gema Sangkakala with 12 July 1987 as its birth date.
